Come and meet once again with our fantastic researchers. Let’s gather on the Night of 23 rd September 2011 and create together GREATNIGHT!
Become a researcher and construct DNA helix, create science – oriented film, feed an artificial cow. Construct your own computer and check if it works. Become convinced that our researchers are not so serious – they can laugh and tell funny jokes. Feel like dancing or singing? Come and sing karaoke songs with researchers. And at the end dress up like a famous scientist and dance with our researchers cha-cha or jive. These are only some of many attractions that wait for you to reveal your passion for science and convince you that researchers are just ordinary people.
GREATNIGHT is a continuation of the Researchers’ Night projects of the past four years, which were highly successful. These events became an important element of promoting Poznan researchers’ image.
The project builds on last years’ experiences and aims at enhancing further public recognition of researchers and their work by bringing researchers closer to the public at large, underlying their important contribution to the daily life and well being of the European citizens. This year, we will offer more activities thanks to a greater space and more fun elements. As the 2011 year was announced the year of Marie Curie we want to emphasise the role of women in research. Special campaign encouraging girls to choose research career will be introduced. During the Night several events related to Marie Curie will be organised under common theme: CURIE event.
Our researchers will be the stars of the Night, playing roles of guides, animators but also common people living next door. A blend of different activities: hands-on experiments, interactive games and fun – all in a joyful atmosphere will create unforgettable event for the public at large surely competing with other Friday-night attractions."
