Multi-source regenerative systems power conversion - REGENESYS

Objective

"The main aim of this project is to develop a flexible power conversion system incorporating multiple energy sources, as well as energy recovery and storage capability. The power system will be developed for use with the 270V DC power distribution network, typical of avionic applications.
Safety and HW/SW certification factors will be taken into due consideration, either during the system and sub-system architecture definition, either during the design and development phase, when failure modes effects and robustness analyses will be performed both at system level and component level as deemed necessary.
It will assess the suitability and potentialities of novel energy storage technologies and will provide a thorough and in-depth analysis of energy transfer management and control in order to ensure maximum flexibility of exploitation and optimised system performance.
It will deliver a fully controlled power conversion system capable of efficient managing the regenerated and stored energy for use during peak power demands from the load.
The required demonstration phase, when the system will be integrated and subjected to performance testing and compliance to the application through a test rig designed for purpose, has been considered."

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
