"VERTICAL MICROFLUIDIC PROBE: A nanoliter ""Swiss army knife"" for chemistry and physics at biological interfaces"

Final Report Summary - BIOPROBE (VERTICAL MICROFLUIDIC PROBE: A nanoliter "Swiss army knife" for chemistry and physics at biological interfaces)

BioProbe was mandated to advance and create a new class of liquid scanning probe technology – called the microfluidic probe technology – by localizing liquid on wet surfaces can perform spatiotemporal alterations. These alternations could be performed on biological surfaces and common substrates such as microscope slides, microtitler plates and Petri’s dishes. A large class of MFP devices were created that could perform diverse types of alternations by localizing one or many different types of liquids, parallelize their dispensing, sequence them and mix them, as required. These class of devices and methods where used to perform a new line of analysis on adherent cells and tissue sections to implement protein and nucleic acid-based assays.
