Final Report Summary - ELETRONANOMAT (Molecular Scale Electrochemistry and Nontraditional Electrochemical Materials Science)
Joint published and publishable results have been obtained in all planned work packages. Areas in particular focus have been: molecular electronics and sophisticated single-molecule science; new materials in molecular electrochemistry based on graphene and other carbon materials, metallic and semiconductor nanoparticles including hybrids of these materials; applications of the new materials in supercapacitors, high-power materials, and heterogeneous catalysis; application of single-crystal metal electrodes together with spectroscopic techniques in electrocatalysis and molecular adsorption from aqueous and ionic liquid media; and, use of theoretical methods to model monolayer adsorption and important electrochemical processes such as the electrochemical oxidation of carbon monoxide.
The results and scientific contacts established will constitute the basis for forthcoming new cooperation among ELECTRONANOMAT’s research groups and with other actors.
