Objective
SMEs in Slovakia are the cornerstone of the Country's competitive position and job creation. They are confronted by many specific challenges, among which:
- new sub-contracting partnerships with large companies,
- fast reaction capabilities in case of technological, political and business changes
- new organizational concepts such as networked businesses.
One of the main resources for improving sustainability and competitiveness of Slovak SMEs is their active participation in the 6th Framework Programme RTD projects. The main objective of the project is focused on assisting Slovak SMEs in the preparation of their proposals addressing Programme objectives and calls of the 6thFP. This objective shall be achieved by a selective and dedicated approach.
The selective approach is based on the analysis of the current status followed by identification of Country specific areas for technology and innovation development. SMEs will be informed through repeated eight (8) "Information Days" events and encouraged to address their project ides to these specific areas.
For SMEs with sound project ideas, a dedicated proposal drafting five (5) "Trainings combined with workshops", addressing relevant 6thFP project instruments will be organized. As a result of this technical assistance, at least 25 eligible Slovak SME project proposals will be prepared and submitted during the duration of this SSA project.
