Clustering converging Tech Transfer Projects and innovative SMEs across 10 regions

Objectif

Tech SME Partnering project is to provide critical tools for 2 target groups in 11 Regions: 200 selected technology transfer (TT) projects presented by over 100 TT officers of Public Research Organisations (PROs), and; 200 innovative SMEs seeking to widen their resource base. The project will allow the 11 Regions to cluster these TT projects around the 200 SMEs.

This will be done in a 2-year programme by:
1. better defining the 200 TT projects together with the 200 experts and dynamic innovative SMEs in 11 Partnering Academies, or 1 in each Region;
2. clustering the 200 TT projects and SMEs across the Regions into 6 specialised Clustering Fora (by sector) to facilitate partnerships;
3. publish electronically the profiles and partnering requests of the TT projects and SMEs in an e-catalogue on the project portal to facilitate partnering and solicit interest from over 400 corporate and VC investors and partners.

The project will lead to value and job creation: 40 TT projects or SMEs in discussion with investors, and; 60 TT projects or SMEs in discussion with research or business partners. There are 6 main and 4 smaller Regions participating each represented by a public or private body with a mandate (incl. a support letter for private bodies): Flanders, Stockholm area, UK NorthWest, Minho and Centre Portugal and Valencia, Rhine Alpes, and; Cyprus, Central Macedonia, Madeira and Great Plains Hungary (Szeged).

The project is driven by 3 leading European organisations bringing unparalleled expertise: Europe Unlimited with a track record in coaching start-ups at the Gate2Growth Venture Academies and arranging investment fora, in cooperation with the IST and LSH programmes, ProTon Europe representing the majority of TT offices of PROs in Europe promoting tech transfer best practice, and; The AiMes Centre of the University of Liverpool with a recognised expertise in tech transfer and partnering portals and web sites.

Régime de financement
