Objective
The specific support action proposal aims at the promotion of participation of Poland in GMES. The establishment of a single national point called GMES Information Centre (GIC) will concentrate information, advisory and support activities related to GMES in one institution, what should result in an increased efficiency and synergy. The project focuses on the following priorities:
- Support for participation of Polish institutions in GMES thematic projects
- Support for growth of user segment of GMES-related projects
Those priorities would be served by the different actions: Establishment of working contacts between Polish institutions and GMES thematic projectsconsortiaDissemination of information on the potential existing in Poland in the field of Earth Observation Promotion of and support for use of EO data by public users (including policy makers) on central level Promotion of and support for use of EO data by public users on regional and local level Dissemination of information and advisory activities Successful undertaking of the project should result in:
- Establishment of working relations between Polish institutions and GMES consortia
- Improvement of knowledge about potential existing in Poland in the field of EO, mainly among GMES community.
- Creation of conditions for utilisation of EO data by public authorities, including convincing decision-makers about potential benefits
- Facilitation of use of EC structural funds for that purpose
- Facilitation of introduction of projects based on utilisation of EO data Improvement of knowledge about potential benefits that may be derived from use of EO data
