Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies

Objectif

The AIAS-COFUND fellowship programme is a new international fellowship programme initiated by Aarhus University (AU) that provides for transnational mobility among the most talented researchers, as a means of helping them in their training and career development. The target group of the programme is talented researchers with at least two years of fulltime experience after completing their PhD.

The programme is open for both incoming mobility and reintegration.
Incoming mobility is for non-residents of Denmark. The target group is both experienced researchers from EU member states and EU associated countries, and researchers from a third country.
Reintegration is for nationals from EU member states and EU associated countries who have carried out research for at least three years in an other third country and who wish to return to an EU member state or EU associated country (in this case Denmark) in order to pursue their academic career after a period of transnational mobility.

The duration of a fellowship can be 12-36 months. The proposed start date for fellows is 1 September each year, subject to individual planning of fellows. Within the 60-month project period, a total of 70 (approximately 63 incoming and 7 reintegration) fellowships will be granted. There will be 4 calls. The bottom up approach is respected. However, the focus of the application shall be relevant to the scope and objectives of Aarhus University.

The AIAS-COFUND fellowship programme is part of the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) at Aarhus University. With Aarhus University’s focus on research, internationalisation and talent development, the objective of excellence reflected in the AIAS-COFUND programme is important to the overall strategy of the university.

The mission of the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies is to support excellence in research by attracting the most talented researchers worldwide, and across all research disciplines. Therefore, when selecting the fellows, the primary criteria will be research excellence, and training and career development.
