Objectif
"The main idea of TRAiL (Taste the ReseArchers’ Life) is to show that researchers are human beings belonging to one big research family integrated in the European society. The project is a trip of imagination and scientific rigor to understand what attracts to pursue a scientific career and why a young should choose to be a researcher through events that show how researchers feel the world around them. TRAiL would like to be a path to tackle the stereotypes about researchers via a variety of events in direct contact with the general public, showing their real face and enhancing the researchers’ role inside society.
The project is articulated in harmonically and well-equilibrated informal, pleasant, enjoyable and attractive activities linked with science. Several edutainment activities and events addressed to the public at large will be organized with researchers being actively involved and directly in contact with the visitors in order to: promote the European dimension of researchers, valorise the job researcher, enhance researchers’ integration, reinforce the link between researchers and citizens and promote scientific careers among young people.
The TRAiL project is organized by researchers and citizen of Frascati Scienza association, and is hosted in the largest research area in Italy where more than 3000 international researchers live and work. The event will be performed and hosted in the laboratories of the most important Italian institutions ASI, CNR, ENEA, ESA-ESRIN, INAF, INFN and INGV located in the south of Rome, the three Universities of Rome Sapienza, Tor Vergata and Roma Tre, the European Gravitational Observatory in Pisa and the Gran Sasso Laboratory of INFN.
Frascati Scienza is supported in the project from many local, regional and national institutions and has a long experience in managing successfully the Researchers’ Night, that has organized since 2006, as well as many other science communication activities designed and performed by researchers"
