Final Report Summary - RESTRECA (DNA Replication Stress in Cancer)
In parallel, the project has brought to the attention of the scientific community peculiar forms of DNA replication stress that are intrinsically associated with physiological cell subpopulations playing crucial role in human biology, such as embryonic stem cells during early embryogenesis, or haematopoietic stem cells during responses to infections or other environmental stimuli.
Approaching these key open questions by a combination of specialised single-molecule analysis methods has been instrumental to uncover phenomena that had remained obscure for decades and that will represent important avenues of further research in the years to come.
