Objectif
Relativistic heavy-ion collisions probe the fundamental structure and behavior
of matter at the highest temperatures ever achieved. Results from the
Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) have demonstrated the creation of
a strongly interacting, deconfined Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). New data, especially
from higher-energy collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will soon
provide an opportunity to quantify properties of the QGP medium, as well
as to characterize the non-equilibrium dynamics of the early stages of a collision.
It is proposed to use state-of-the-art phenomenological tools to extract such
precise quantitative information from these new experimental data.
