SEWGS Technology Platform for cost effective CO2 reduction the in the Iron and Steel Industry

Deliverables

Preliminary assessment of the most promising industrial applications

This deliverable report deals with a study to identify other industrial applications that could provide opportunities to further exploit the SEWGS technology. Typical processes and process streams from refinery, chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, and other sources are reviewed and investigated if the SEWGS technology could be applied to enhance the process as well as mitigating CO2 emissions.

Carbon capture summit

As dissemination action, it is foreseen that a carbon capture summit is organized together with other EU-sponsored or international CCS initiatives or even as attachment to an existing forum in order to reach out to a larger audience.

Public project website

The public project website is considered as an open access communication channel, aiming at disseminating project updates, project highlights and project news regarding carbon mitigation in the steel and chemical industries on a regular basis.

Promotional advertisement of piloting facility

A promotional film will be made of the SEWGS piloting facility. It is aimed at informing the scientific community on the technical background end the purpose of the piloting facility. It can be used to generate additional interest in the development of carbon capture technology related to the steel industry as well as to other industrial sectors such as the power and chemical industry.
