Objective
The objective of OLMECO is to develop and evaluate an open library suitable for multidisciplinary models of mechatronic system components. This will provide engineers with validated elementary re-usable models and thus improve the speed and safety of the model-building operation. These models will be connected to CAD and finite element analysis systems through the library.
The work aims at the complete integrated design of mechatronic systems, based on Bond Graph modelling and simulation. The library itself will rely on an object-oriented representation appropriate to the classification and ordering of components.
The library will be evaluated by design engineers simulating applications in the automotive and machine tool industries. The results will be incorporated in software products to be marketed by one of the industrial partners.
