Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

This project involved the set-up of a spin-off to commercialise the multimodal imaging agents developed as part of the linked ERC StG. At the start of the PoC, there was no clarity on the main application of the imaging agent, the development plan, the production technology and the regulatory requirements. We have made strong progress on all these fronts. A spin-off has been set up (Cenya Imaging B.V.) with a CEO. Together, we have worked on the business plan and spoken to several KOLs to develop a strategy with a strong focus. We have also acquired more regulatory clarity, and have started the testing necessary for approval. We are also able to produce the agents at a larger scale. Finally, our IP position has also become stronger, with some of the previously pending patents now granted.
Overall, Cenya Imaging is now in a relatively strong position. We have also acquired further start-up funding. In the next few years, we will finalise the licensing and start marketing our product. We aim to bring multimodal preclinical and clinical imaging to much broader use, particularly for personalised medicine applications such as the optimisation of cell therapies.
