Brazil-EU Cooperation for Development of Advanced Lignocellulosic Biofuels

Deliverables

Dissemination and communication plan

It refers to task 6.1. A document describing the project messages, the target audience and the communication means to be used to convey the messages. Mean of verification: Clear project messages stated; target audience identified; communication tools identified, calendar of main communication activities included.

Description of full biomass supply chains

It refers to task 2.1. To describe illustrative logistic chains for advanced lignocellulosic biofuels including exemplary logistic concepts for different feedstocks, regions and conditions. The sub-selection will serve as input for the further testing of logistical concepts with the logistical assessment tools in tasks 2.2 and 2.3 in the case study regions. Indicators of success/failure: success if enough data are collected to continue with the further assessments in Task 2.2 and 2.3.

Dissemination and communication plan: update3

It refers to task 6.1. Update of D6.1

Norms and standards for advanced biofuels

It refers to task 3.1. The reports will review the applicable international norms and harmonized standards that could be applicable to the advanced lignocellulosic biofuels investigated in BECOOL, and identify if extension to the applicable norms and standards are to be implemented. Mean of verification: report delivered and available for the consortium

Report on the gasification of solid fuels/slurry for the route to advanced biofuels

It refers to sub-task 3.2.1. The report will describe the gasification behaviour and underpin this with a mass and energy balance for solid fuels supplied by project partners. It will identify the most promising biomass streams that can be used for the production of advanced biofuels. Mean of verification: report delivered and available for the consortium

Harmonized Data & Methodological approaches

It refers to task 5.2. Results from a joint workshop to define common scoping questions for the assessment work and harmonised methodological approaches and assumptions will be presented. Guidelines for harmonized data exchange will be described. Indicator of success/failure: report delivered and available for the consortium

Set up of assessment tools and literature review

It refers to task 1.1. Literature review on biomass assessments (major EU projects and studies). Assessments criteria/tools will be set up so as to identify biomass feedstocks of common interest with Brazil. Indicator of success/failure: at least 10 major EU projects and relevant studies will be identified and reviewed. Assessment criteria will be illustrated.

Definition of best harvesting logistics

It refers to task 1.4. Optimized mechanical solutions to increase the efficiency of recovering of agricultural residues and other lignocellulosic options. Field drying, baling or comminution, densifying processes addressed. Indicator of success/failure: at least two best harvesting logistics options will be identified.

Dissemination and communication plan: update1

It refers to task 6.1. Update of D6.1

Impact and strategy for liquid biofuels

It refers to task 5.4. Expression of the results of the attributional assessment. It includes the identification of the most important drivers for costs and emissions. Potential direct and indirect impacts will be described. Indicator of success/failure: report delivered and available for the consortium

Market framework description for liquid biofuels

It refers to task 5.3. Market framework for biofuels in Europe will be analyzed. Future market of biofuel will be discussed. Indicator of success/failure: report delivered and available for the consortium

Dissemination and communication plan: update2

It refers to task 6.1. Update of D6.1

Description of plausible value chains

It refers to task 5.1. Description of the selected value chains for the next assessment steps in WP5 including information about the used feedstock, logistics, processing and end uses. The selected criteria for the compilation of the plausible value chains will be described. Indicator of success/failure: report delivered and available for the consortium

Project branding material website and social media

It refers to task 6.2. Project logo, leaflet, poster template, slide template, website website; LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube challels. Mean of verification: Branding material print and pdf available, website online, social media accounts activated and launched
