Planning of demonstration and network services for Use Case 3

D7.1 will provide a detailed demonstration plan and functional/non-functional description of UC3 network services.

Prototypes of network services and integration planning for Use Case 1

This deliverable will include the VNFs used in network services and the actions performed for the 5G ESSENCE prototype integration into the stadium.

Report on awareness and wider societal implications

This deliverable will contain the results of the work within 5G ESSENCE, relative to the reports to the EU on practical as well as socially impacting issues. The report will also include specific information on how gender issues were carefully addressed by the project.

Optimisation of virtualisation, orchestration, and resource allocation

Investigation and development of methods for highly dynamic virtualisation solutions and their applicability in the 5G ESSENCE specific context.

Dissemination, Communication and Standardisation Report – Period 2
System Use Cases and Requirements

Elaboration of the 5G ESSENCE System Use Cases, adaptation and description to the specific scenarios that will be targeted by the 5G vertical industries demonstrations. Identification of the fundamental limitations addressed, envisaged innovations, and key system requirements.

Alignment with 5G-PPP Phase-1 technologies and final architecture

Survey and analysis of 5G-PPP Phase-1 technologies and direct positioning of 5G ESSENCE through appropriate justification of the followed technological selections. Identification and analysis of parameters that may affect the final commercial adoption. It will include the roadmap for PoC and evaluation strategy based on the final architecture.

Overall system architecture and specifications

Presentation of the overall 5G ESSENCE system architecture, including the definition of all the layers, functional description of sub-modules, interfaces and data to be exchanged. Review of SESAME and other relevant 5G Phase-1 activities architectural frameworks. Collection of architecture requirements, assumptions and scientific choices.

Plans for Dissemination, Communication, Standardisation and Exploitation, Interaction with 5G-PPP

A coordinated dissemination and communication plan will be defined in D8.1 by M03 and maintained/updated throughout the project. This document will describe how 5G ESSENCE will establish and follow highly effective dissemination and communication activities to promote the project and will record how the results are being exploited. It will be written primarily as a guide for the project partners and for the key stakeholders of our intended dissemination and promotion activities and covers four main aspects: • The dissemination and communication/promotion goals. • How the project will disseminate and promote project activities and work, i.e., the 5G ESSENCE strategy. • A plan of the specific promotional activities that will evolve in line with the development of the overall project work and activities, in close collaboration with the technical WPs. • A description of how the project can measure the effectiveness of its dissemination and communication (keeping the KPIs defined in the proposal as a basis) The report will be updated through D8.3, D8.4 and D8.5.

Techniques for advanced radio resources, centralised management and 5G network coordination

This deliverable will provide the description and the overall design of the cSD-RAN controller. Also, here will be described the methods for efficient network slicing, optimisation, and the development procedures of the Edge DC and the related services under various configurations.

This deliverable will include the documentation and the actual VNFs used in network services and the actions done for the 5G ESSENCE prototype integration to the IFEC scenario and demonstration.

Market analysis, roadmapping and business modelling report

D8.6 will be a detailed techno-economic analysis including adequate forecasts for the adoption of the services and technologies proposed by 5G ESSENCE.

Final report on network embedded cloud, 5G cSD-RAN controller and network slicing

D3.2 will provide in detail, the description and the development phases followed in order to deliver the Edge DC and 5G cSD-RAN controller frameworks and their incorporation into the 5G ESSENCE platform.

Dissemination, communication and standardisation report - Period 1
Final report on advanced virtualisation, dynamic telemetry and service orchestration

This deliverable will include a detailed description of the dynamic telemetry modules, the ML techniques, and other analytical and technical approaches selected to apply for service placement and resource allocation within 5G ESSENCE framework and the orchestration system.

This deliverable will include the documentation and the actual VNFs used in network services and the actions done for the 5G ESSENCE prototype integration to the mission critical scenario and demonstration.

This deliverable will provide a detailed demonstration plan and the description of functional/non-functional requirements of the UC1 network services.

Planning of demonstration and network services for Use Case 2

This deliverable will provide a detailed demonstration plan and functional/non-functional description of UC2 network services.

Data Management Plan

Similarly to the software generated by the project, some of the data used may be considered as confidential or private by the users or one or more of the partners. The particular data will be described in the DMP and the ways of securing users’ privacy and confidentiality between involved parties will be provided. The exact repositories that would be suitable for storing the gathered/generated data is not clear at the moment, as there are several options available. All these details will be clarified in the DMP.

Project website

5G ESSENCE Project website will be officially launched on the start day of the Project. The website will provide detailed information about the Project objectives and activities. The website will have two sections: public and private. The public part will be open to the general public and will be viewable by anyone with access to Internet. The private part will be regularly updated to provide latest project activities and overall progress and will be accessible only to consortium members. The website will be maintained by the PM.
