Deliverables
Experimental validation of the flow control technology using the HighSpeed Research Compressor rig at TUM and quantification of the performance benefit and it comparison against numerical predictionReportout will include the speedline of the compressor traverse data pressure temperature velocities and flow angles at intrastage planes Deliverable relates to T11
Analysis of operation performance of the condition monitoring systemEvaluation of data generated by condition monitoring system during routine operation (in test rig) as well as specific test cases if applicable. The report contains results of real engine data during routine operation. Data will be evaluated and the condition based monitoring scheme verified. This deliverable belongs to Task 4.1
Model development and validationA report showing the combustor characteristics of 3D CFD model with performance and predictions comparable to available combustor data. The aim is to match model and data as close as possible to baseline. This relates to Task 2.2.
Design and verification of modelA report showing performance characteristics of 3D compressor model compared with predictions of a reference compressor. The aim is to obtain a compressor model that is indicative of the reference compressor performance at baseline. This relates to Task 1.3.
Layman’s report on performance and flexibility improvements and their economic impactThis deliverable refers to Tasks 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3. The aim of the deliverable is to publish a public report, which describes the key achievements of TURBO-REFLEX consortium in the improvements of performance and flexibility in the power plants under consideration and their expected economic impact in the electricity market.
Rotor life evaluation systemThermal stress and life expenditure module ready for implementation in the Turbine Control System. A modified thermal stress and life expenditure module will be ready to be implemented in the TCS to assess the remaining life of the turbine according to actual operational steam parameters and flow conditions in turbine inlet. The implementation in the TCS itself is outside the scope of the project. Deliverable relates to ST4.2.2
Plant baseline modelReport that describes baseline models and operating profile for OCGT, CCGT, steam and aero GT power plant modelling. - Determination of a generic heavy duty GT and aero GT model to be used as baseline for the investigations after coordination with all partners - Determination of OCGT, CCGT and steam cycle model to be used as baseline for the investigations after coordination with all partners Deliverable relates to Task 5.1 and Task 5.2
Dissemination and exploitation planReport describing the measures to be taken to increase public awareness for the project and widely distribute project results to different target audiences. Further, the plan will provide the strategic exploitation plan carried out jointly from Consortium partners and individually by the industry partners. Finally, the measures and mechanisms that have will be established in order to protect foreground and determine how they will be used will be part of the plan. The document will be updated continuously and made available to the full consortium.
Implemented and validated condition monitoring system at rig engineFunctioning and tested condition monitoring system on a test rig platform.
Requirement analysis report and specification document’Report on available data, simulation models and methods, as well as the specification for future data acquisition /automation systems.
Development of measurement technique and experimental resultsThe established optical measurement technique using thermo-chromic liquid crystal method will be applied using Perspex models with appropriate scaling to laboratory conditions for new small-scale cooling configuration. It aims to provide a first database for design applications. With this, a general methodology for experimental evaluation of novel small-scale cooling configuration in relation to the investigations in Subtask 2.3.1 could be achieved.

Exploitation of stretched design limitsReport on fracture mechanical behaviour of high temperature steels for steam turbine components (e.g. crack propagation, fracture toughness). The report will discuss methods for handling thermal and load history effects such as, for instance, warm pre-stressing with application to results obtained in the project. This deliverable refers to T3.3.
Remote Monitoring SystemAn online accessible computation and visualization SW module capable of detecting and visualizing the rub symptoms regarding the monitored turbine rotor; additional statistical algorithm allowing the expert to analyze the current rub symptoms from the perspective of previous historical data; Cloud oriented online SW (Remote Monitoring System) accessing the online data from turbine blades monitoring on multiple machines and computing the model based blade residual lifetime estimation for selected monitored turbine. Implementation of a SW module for rub detection in a prototypical way. Case study of the prototype used to analyze rub symptoms in turbine operation. Implementation of cloud oriented online SW for turbine blades monitoring and case study of blade residual lifetime estimation for selected turbine in operation. Deliverable relates to ST4.2.3
Public workshop presenting the final results of the TURBO-REFLEX project and providing an outlook of the necessary next development steps; connected with turbomachinery conference.
Public websiteThe aim of this deliverable is the creation of a public website to present the project in general as well as the partners. On the webiste, overview will be given of the approach and current results. The website will be maintained to the end of the project.
Intermediate workshopThe aim of this public workshop is to present preliminary results of the project, and to discuss the potential role of thermal power plants in the transition process towards a future low carbon energy sector, and the respective policy and research implications. Further, the workshop aims at establishing a dialogue between the consortium, relevant stakeholders and European policy makers.
