SUPERCRITICAL CO2 CYCLE FOR FLEXIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE SUPPORT TO THE ELECTRICITY SYSTEM

Livrables

First design of the heat exchanger solution

First design of the heat exchanger solution (Task 4.3) consists in the preliminary design of the heat exchanger by FIVES, according to WP1 specifications, and preliminary outcomes of Task 4.1 and 4.2.

Mechanical resistance evaluation

The report on Mechanical resistance evaluation (Task 4.1) will summarize the results of the validation of PFHE (plate and fins HX) configuration for high pressure and high temperature (operating conditions). According to the results, all partners will choose the best solution between PFHE and PCHE (printed circuit Heat Exchanger).

Project Management Plan

The Project Management Plan (Task 9.1) will consist of a Gantt chart and a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), including a schedule per task, responsible partner related subtasks, related deliverables, and dependencies on other tasks. This Plan will be revised and updated at least twice during the project.

Methodology for corrosion testing

This deliverable (Task 2.4) will consist in the elaboration of a methodology for corrosion testing (including sample specification and definition of operational conditions for the corrosion tests), so as to be able to then test (Task 2.5) the most promising materials identified.

Report on benchmark parameters and loop geometry

Report on benchmark parameters and loop geometry (Task 5.4) includes the validation on experimental data collected from the CVR sCO2 loop operation of the computational codes used for tasks 5.1 and 5.2 as well as the definiton of parameters for the benchmark and for the loop.

Report on selected cycle architecture

This report (Task 1.3) will identify the selected cycle architecture and serve as a basis for the entire project by defining the main assumptions on which the partners will build on to carry out their work, which will make possible to validate or not the choices made for the sCO2 cycle and/or to propose improvements and innovative solutions to meet the flexibility needs defined.

Flexibility constraints & Load scenarios

This intermediate report (Task 1.2) will detail the different flexibility constraints & load scenarios, explaining their impacts on the cycle operability (demand estimation to determine the stops/starts scenario, scenarios of partial load variations). Task 1.3's actions will be inter alia based on the conclusions of this Report.

sCO2 Brayton cycle architecture and components’ specifications

This intermediate report (Task 1.1) will detail and explain the sCO2 Brayton cycle studied architectures (strengths and weaknesses, global performances, layout, specifications, operating conditions…) and components’ specification. In Task 1.3 the partners will select the final cycle architecture.

Report on the nominal design of different plant configurations and sensitivity analysis on main design parameters

Report on the nominal design of different plant configurations and sensitivity analysis on main design parameters (Task 5.1) includes the outcomes of the validation of the nominal cycle design defined in WP1 and the outcomes of the sensitivity analysis of the most significant cycle parameters carried out to validate WP1 results and to highlight future scenarios.

Initial dissemination material

Short report on initial dissemination material (Task 8.2) will detail the dissemination materials developed to ensure the proper dissemination of the project's objectives, results and outcomes, inter alia the logo, the factsheets, the public summaries, the leaflets, the press releases and articles, the posters and the videos.

Project website

"The deliverable ""sCO2-Flex website"" (Task 8.2) includes the design, development and update of sCO2-Flex's website. This one will be regularly updated with public results, deliverables, news and events, thus ensuring an analytical record and assessment of the project dissemination and communication activities"

Updated Dissemination material

Short Report on updated dissemination material (Task 8.2) will be an updated version of the Initial Dissemination Material Deliverable, describing the dissemination materials developed to ensure the proper dissemination of the project's objectives, results and outcomes.

Publishable summary

Publishable summary of the sCO2-Flex project (Task 8.2) is a document prepared by the consortium (to be sent to the EC) and uploaded on the project website, presenting the advances of the project.

Social network profiles

Social network profiles (Task 8.2) will detail the profiles created on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, used as direct communication channels with companies, citizens, and professionals. Updates, events, news, etc. will be published on social networks so as to increase the visibility of sCO2-Flex and visits on the website.

First Exploitation plan

The first version of the sCO2-Flex Exploitation plan (Task 8.1) will ensure the proper market uptake of the solution implemented through the development of business plans and exploitation action plans and the identification of technology transfer opportunities.

First Dissemination and communication plan

The first Dissemination and communication plan (Task 8.2), updated every 6 months, will provide guidelines enabling the consortium to target the relevant audiences, to finetune key messages, to use the most efficient communication channels) and to define a clear planning for dissemination and communication activities.

Materials selection, definition of samples and parameters for corrosion tests

"""Materials selection, definition of samples and parameters for corrosion tests"" (Task 3.3) consists in assessing samples' corrosion and erosion resistance properties and to modify the test section of CVR's loop to represent the turbine conditions so as to be able to perform tests in CVR's laboratory.
