Project description
Deployment of building-level renewable energy sources
Renovation has been singled out in the European Green Deal as a key initiative to drive energy efficiency in the building sector. The EU-funded RE-COGNITION project will leverage energy production from multiple renewable energy technologies and enable their optimal pairing with storage technologies to meet buildings’ electricity, heating, cooling and hot water demand, efficiently and exactly when needed. It will develop a non-intrusive and scalable cross-functional renewable energy sources Integration Platform. The Automated Cognitive Energy Management Engine (ACEME) along with an intelligent Gateway (iGateway) will be deployed, for optimally harnessing the energy generated from each of the available energy resources.
