Impact of Geo-Drill on environmental footprint on geothermal power

As part of Task 92 this deliverable will report on the comparative LCA analysis of the 2 cases identified in Task 91 to validate the environmental benefit of GeoDrill To comply with the guideline and ensure the credibility of the LCA study we will make these studies through critical reviewing process by an independent reviewer

Report on drill string physics simulator

As part of Task 72 this deliverable will provide a report on building of drill string model with generalized beam elements

Impact of Geo-Drill on LCOE

This deliverable is part of Task 91 and will provide report on the LCOE analysis based on Icelandic and German perspective to demonstrate the economic impact of the GeoDrill concept The report will include teh collected technical data such as depth to drill to intersect target formation temperature of the target formation well productivity and injectivity index reservoir permeability reservoir capacity aerial extent probable project development size

Impact of welding on coating integrity

Report on performance of welding on test coupons and analysis by TWI under Task 36 The welding parameters will be optimized to achieve a uniform defectfree weld

Report on erosion-corrosion testing of samples in simulated environment

Report on erosion and corrosion testing by TWI under simulated geothermal drilling environments as part of Task 33 the materials tested will be raked to help down select the materials for further testes at elevated temperatures and pressures

Report on HEA and cermet alloy based coating synthesis

Report on synthesis of High Entropy Alloy HEA based coating and cermet based alloy coating through HVOF under Task 28 5 test coupon for each coating developed will be prepared to be tested in WP3

Report on dissemination event and publications

Part of Task 103 this deliverable will report on Dissemination activities and publications produced during the project

Characterisation report

Led by GEO under Task 1.2, the report will include information on the collected data and samples regarding geofluid, temperature, geology, rheology, drilling mud for analysis and characterisation. The results of the analysis will be used to formulate representative geothermal drill environment which will be used to set up the simulated laboratory geothermal environment.

FMEA report

Led by TVS, this report will be outcome of the activities under Task 1.1. Common failures in geothermal drilling will be identified followed by evalutaion by key experts. The expert’s responses will be summarized, and final FMEA worksheet will be generated according to the format presented in the following table (by XFMEA software).

Report on geothermal well flow assurance simulator

As part of Task 71 the delievarble will provide a report on the deveopment of a geothermal well flow simulator including deatils about the extension of the simulator to activities including development of a 1D annuli model extension to handle nonNewtonian fluids with focus on drilling mud development of a simplified timedependent 1Dmodel development of force models and drilling mud properties

Report on Drill Monitor Calculator

This deliverable from Task 73 will provide a report on development of a calculator that will support the Drill Monitor system developed in WP6 The Drill Monitor Calculator developed in this task will be able to calculate the SPE flow speed mud density as well as provide information on more longterm effects of geothermal corrosion scaling and erosion

Rheology testing Report

The deliverable is a report on the rheology testing of drilling mud performed by GER under Task 1.2 as part of characterisation of the geothermal drilling environment.

Impact of Geo-Drill on the sustainability of geothermal power

As part of Task 93 this deliverable will report on the estimation of the cost and environment load reduction opportunity of GeoDrill in geothermal application using the DSS platform The objective of the study is to encourage and to draw attention of the policy makers investors geothermal operators to enhance the growth of the geothermal energy

Report on the development of materials and coatings
Report of field validation and analysis

As part of Task 82 this deliverable will provide a report on the validation studies using the GeoDrill system in field testing The project validation will be carried out in Germany NW Europe

Report on drill bit tooth, fluidic oscillator, and stabilizer coating manufacture and properties

Report on development of coating systems such as tungsten carbide WC tungsten carbide cobalt chrome WCCoCr Nickel alloy coatings eg NiCrFeSiB based selffluxing alloys and nanocrystallineamorphous materials carried out under Task 23 5 test coupon for each coating developed will be prepared to be tested in WP3

Geo-Drill KPIs

Report on established KPIs related to hammer, drill bit, drill pipe, sensor, data acquisition and drill monitoring system performance under Task 1.4. The threshold values set for each KPI will be used to benchmark success criterion for material and coating synthesis & optimisation (WP2), drilling components development (WP4, WP5, WP6, WP7, WP8) and testing & validation activities (WP3, WP9).

Report on materials testing and characterization
A project website

This deliverable is part of Task 10.3. The project website will be created and regularly updated by TWI.

Common GUI ready to use

This deliverable is part of Task7.7 for development of a common graphical user interface (GUI) that will allow seamless integration of the well flow assurance simulator, drill string simulator, KBS, and DSS.

KBS database developed and models integrated

As part of Task7.5, a relational database will be developed that will be populated with all the experimental and research data generated in previous tasks and work packages.

Simulator compatibility developed

Under Task 7.4, features will be developed for the well and drill string simulators such that they can be combined and compatible with the KBS and DSS.
