Aumentar la concienciación en materia de investigación en Eslovenia
La falta de comprensión del trabajo de los investigadores a la hora de mejorar la calidad de vida y los estereotipos persistentes marginan la investigación en humanidades. El equipo del proyecto Humanities Rocks, financiado con fondos europeos, acercará a los investigadores al público general para aumentar su concienciación sobre la investigación y la innovación y animar a los jóvenes a emprender carreras científicas. La Universidad de Liubliana, que celebró sus 100 años en 2019, organizará actividades y eventos. El proyecto se dirigirá al público general —incluidos niños, jóvenes y personas mayores— a través de una campaña que incluye un concurso público entre los jóvenes, presentaciones de los investigadores en escuelas de toda Eslovenia y el establecimiento de contactos personales con los medios de comunicación.
Objetivo
The objective of HUMANITIES ROCK is to bring researchers closer to the general public and to increase awareness of research and innovation activities, with a view to supporting the public recognition of researchers, creating an understanding of the impact of researchers' work on citizen’s daily life, and encouraging young people to embark on research careers. The University of Ljubljana consists of 26 faculties and academies from all fields of science, will celebrate 100 years of its existence next year. Despite well-established communication with the public in the past, particularly humanities are becoming marginalized, if not neglected, not only in the increasingly commercialized public space, but also within the research. The general disvalue of research importance is partly a consequence of the misperception of the researchers’ work, persisting stereotypes and underestimation of the role of research results for improving the quality of life for everyone. With the activities and events on 28 September 2018 in 27 September 2019, we are aiming to improve the perception and reputation of researcher profession in public and their work. The event will target the public at large: children and youth, families and older people. The preceding awareness campaign will comprise the public competition among young people, the accompanying researchers` presentations in schools across Slovenia and the establishment of personal contacts with media representatives. The researchers will be the stars of the night, but at the same time they will be presented on stage as ordinary people with extraordinary jobs. The HUMANITIES ROCK! project will offer many different and attractive events and activities in Ljubljana for children and students, families and adults. The proposed activities are consist of presentations, field trips, workshops, exhibitions, discussions and presentations, experiments, open days, a film festival, and the final award ceremony with a music concert.
