Project description
Identifying the challenges of the digitisation of labour
The world of work and the economy are changing. Online platforms are at the forefront of this transition. The EU-funded PLUS project will explore the key features of the platform economy’s impact on work, welfare and social protection. It will focus on the so-called Industry 4.0 revolution, which includes all components for the future of work, social innovation and fair growth. The project’s goal is to describe these transformations and identify the urban dimension as fundamental stage for measuring and evaluating the social and economic impact of these innovations. The findings will fill a gap both in understanding and in tackling challenges posed by the digitisation of labour. PLUS will highlight the measures required to ensure social protection, economic development and well-being in digital labour.
