EEN-Innovate Plus Portugal

Project description

Support for Portugal’s small businesses

Dozens of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Portugal will receive the support they need to pursue their objectives and improve their management, growth and innovation skills. The EU-funded EEN-Innovate Plus PT project will work on boosting the SMEs’ internal innovation capacity, especially their innovation management capacity. It will also enable companies to access European and international markets. To that end, it will first support SME beneficiaries of Horizon 2020’s SME Instrument. Second, it will ensure SMEs continue to benefit from innovation activities and enjoy a high potential for internationalisation. The focus will be on continuing to reinforce the objectives proposed and achieved in the previous proposal and to initiate new approaches to the challenges posed by the European Innovation Council, which will be incorporated into this framework.

Objective

"The proposal presented by this consortium, IAPMEI (coordinator) , ANI; CEC and INESC TEC, is based on the continuity of the work that has been provided within the framework of the EEN-Innovate PT proposal, in the biennium 2017/2018, and whose objectives remain and are intended to continue. It should be noted that during 2019, the H2020 program is still under way, and this year's focus will be to continue reinforcing the objectives proposed and achieved in the previous proposal and to initiate new approaches to the challenges posed by the EIC - European Innovation Council - which the EEN- Innovate Plus PT now aims to incorporate into this framework.
Considering the challenges of the EIC, there will be new competition schedules to consider, from FTI - Fast Track Innovation and FET - Future and Emerging Technologies (one of three complementary lines of action to address different methodologies and scales, FET OPEN), which will require more expertise to accompany companies benefiting from this programs, as each addresses the needs of a particular community in the innovation ecosystem.
Despite the time frame (one year), the challenges posed will require new approaches to the team, and therefore the reinforcement of stakeholders and partners (e.g. Clusters, Financial Institutions, etc.) - creating greater synergies and converting the Network into a ""hub and spoke"".
The main goal of this project is to contribute to reach a greater economic impact from SMEs innovation activities, by reinforcing their innovation management capacity and contributing to establish more effective and efficient links between actors through all the innovation chain (hub and spoke model .In sum, we intend to provide services to 74 companies - Partner 1-IAPMEI – 16 services, (KAM/FTI/FTE-8, EIMC 8) Partner 3-ANI – 17 services(KAM/FTE/FTE 6 + EIMC 11), Partner 10-CEC-20 services, Partner 11-INESCTEC 21services.
