Soutien pour équilibrer les objectifs de biodiversité
La plateforme intergouvernementale scientifique et politique sur la biodiversité et les services écosystémiques (IPBES) est un organe intergouvernemental indépendant. Son objectif est de renforcer l’interface science-politique en matière de biodiversité et de services écosystémiques pour la conservation et l’utilisation durable de la biodiversité, le bien-être humain à long terme et le développement durable. Dans ce contexte, le projet EU4IPBES, financé par l’UE, soutiendra la subvention de l’UE au fonds fiduciaire de l’IPBES, qui soutient l’IPBES dans toutes ses fonctions et structures, y compris ses organes directeurs, son secrétariat et son programme de travail. Il portera sur la poursuite du développement des travaux relatifs aux fondations des capacités et des connaissances, sur la communication et l’évaluation des activités, des produits et des résultats de la plateforme, y compris les outils politiques.
Objectif
The overall objective for this coordination and support action is to support the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on
Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and the implementation of its work programme aiming to strengthen the science-policy
interface for biodiversity and ecosystem services for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, long-term human wellbeing
and sustainable development. With the requested EU grant to the IPBES trust fund, the EU would support IPBES across all its
functions and structures, including its governing bodies, its secretariat, and its work programme, addressing the further
development of work on capacity and knowledge foundations, the communication and evaluation of the Platform's activities,
deliverables and findings, including policy tools, and the synthesis, review, assess and critical evaluation of relevant information and
knowledge on biodiversity and ecosystem services, generated by governments, academia, scientific organizations, nongovernmental
organizations and indigenous and local communities from the EU and worldwide.
