Un sostegno per bilanciare gli obiettivi di biodiversità
La piattaforma intergovernativa di politica scientifica per la biodiversità e i servizi ecosistemici (IPBES) è un ente intergovernativo indipendente. Il suo obiettivo consiste nel rafforzare l’interfaccia di politica scientifica per la biodiversità e i servizi ecosistemici con finalità di conservazione e uso sostenibile della biodiversità, benessere umano sul lungo termine e sviluppo sostenibile. Il questo contesto, il progetto EU4IPBES, finanziato dall’UE, sosterrà la sovvenzione dell’UE al fondo fiduciario dell’IPBES, volto a sostenerla in tutte le sue funzioni e strutture, tra cui i suoi enti governativi, la sua segreteria e il suo programma di lavoro. Affronterà l’ulteriore sviluppo del lavoro sulla capacità e sui fondamenti della conoscenza, la comunicazione e la valutazione delle attività, dei contributi e dei risultati della piattaforma, tra cui gli strumenti politici.
Obiettivo
The overall objective for this coordination and support action is to support the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on
Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and the implementation of its work programme aiming to strengthen the science-policy
interface for biodiversity and ecosystem services for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, long-term human wellbeing
and sustainable development. With the requested EU grant to the IPBES trust fund, the EU would support IPBES across all its
functions and structures, including its governing bodies, its secretariat, and its work programme, addressing the further
development of work on capacity and knowledge foundations, the communication and evaluation of the Platform's activities,
deliverables and findings, including policy tools, and the synthesis, review, assess and critical evaluation of relevant information and
knowledge on biodiversity and ecosystem services, generated by governments, academia, scientific organizations, nongovernmental
organizations and indigenous and local communities from the EU and worldwide.
