Multiplatform for multi-users 3D content co-creation and collaboration in Real-time (VR/AR/Mobile)

Objective

Virtual and Augmented Reality are slowly infiltrating our industries, influencing everything from designing to visualising buildings before a brick has been laid. It requires more people working in 3D as more and more 3D assets and objects are required for these environments. However, still, the design process remains split into the physical 2D pen-and-paper realm and the virtual 3D realm, with Computer Assisted Design (CAD) operators as gatekeepers. The vast majority of 3D content is either scanned or designed by industry professionals, not consumers. What is needed is a solution that will allow designers to quickly and freely create directly in 3D (no 2D phase) to speed up the design process, dramatically reduce cost and time of prototyping any products by eliminating expensive and time-consuming physical prototypes from the design review process by visualizing at scale in 3D on day one. There is a need for an intuitive tool to address the shortage of designers (i.e. Automotive, industrial design, game design, film industries). We at Gravity sketch develop a multiplatform solution for the multi-user collaborative 3D content creation and visualisation in real time that saves the time of the initial design process up to 60% when building accurate manufacturing grade digital models. Our intuitive tool has been tested with series of designers and engineers in Japan, Europe and the USA form automotive, apparel, and film industry. The feasibility study will be aimed at new identified non-enterprise sectors and subscription business model. We will disrupt the 3D design workflow - one platform for real-time 3D content creation, modification, delivery/sharing. It will allow designers and teams from anywhere in the world for collaborative designing using VR/AR/Mobile devices. It is anticipated that VR/AR software could stimulate a USD 35B market by 2025. We aim at EUR 2,8B (SAM) and projected to reach 3,59% of SAM (EUR 100,5M) and increase employment from 10 to 28 by 2023.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.

SME-1 - SME instrument phase 1

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
