Project description
Introducing 3DBONDING for fast, cost-efficient manufacturing
With most production lines requiring huge amounts of steps for production, piecing products together (part by part) in assembly lines, novel solutions for acceleration and cost reduction are highly desired. The EU-funded 3DBonding project led by Simplicity Works Europe S.L. aims to simplify production processes all over Europe to accelerate these production lines, introducing its 3DBONDING technology. This technology can piece all parts of a product together into a mould in a few seconds, reducing product to consumer times by a huge margin. The technology will be first showcased in the shoe manufacturing industry, showing how it can reduce production times as well as material and labour costs.
Objective
Simplicity Works Europe, S.L. is a company created in 2011 by Adrián Hernández, whose mission is to simplify production
processes through 3DBONDING technology. 3DBonding is a disruptive project in the way the industry designs,
manufactures and distributes, bringing production closer to the final consumer and returns production to Europe.
It is an innovative technology that joins all pieces into a mould in few seconds (The current industry process joins pieces one
by one
on an assembly line), simplifying the curreThe 3DBONDING technology consists in the injection of polyurethane in a system
of channels designed in a silicone spine that is introduced in an injection matrix where all the pieces of the shoe are
prepared to be joined. It is a system that, adapted to the current industry, reduces the number of footwear manufacturing
steps from 70 to 10 with the consequent reduction of labor and material, increased productivity and shoe quality in terms of
impermeability, durability and three-dimensional stability, as well as an increase in the possibilities of design and
personalization.
Given the advantages that 3DBONDING offers to the sector, potential clients are collaborating in the development of
technology, as well as technological partners that offer material and machinery to continue with the design of the system. To
scale and its implementation in a pilot plant that will serve to advance in the footwear segments (security, professional)
where the technology is easier and more cost-effective to implement.
The prospects of the project are very high considering the high possibilities offered by bringing industry 4.0 to reality in
different sectors such as footwear and the automobile. Our main business objective is to offer 3DBonding technology to the
European industry as a universal manufacturing system.
