Project description
New climate responsive designs for outdoor life
With rapid urbanisation, cities are progressively falling short of sustaining outdoor life. The EU-funded SOLOCLIM project aims to develop a doctoral training programme that enables young researchers to generate solutions for urban outdoors. SOLOCLIM intends to develop such solutions at different scales, encompassing larger neighbourhood and city scales, and testing their effects. The industry in architecture, urban and landscape design is in need of these innovative solutions as climate adaptation in cities is one of the largest challenges for the future. SOLOCLIM will train experts in this field, offering advanced climate responsive design to PhD students.
