Results of the meta-analysis to determine effective landscape scale management

This final report with the description of datasets included in the meta-analysis, detailed research questions and meta-analysis protocol, besides the main results of the meta-analysis, will be made available to the public through FRAMEWORK website and communication tools and results will be fed into the Innovation Hub (WP3), the biodiversity indices and DST development WP5, the landscape complementation modelling of Task 4.2, and the socio-ecological modelling and natural asset profiling of WP7 (Task 4.1).

Advanced Farmer Cluster Facilitator training programme and training events

Training materials and an annual training event will be provided for facilitators, following feed back of their requirements ((Task 2.2).

The NAP protocol will define the conceptual and analytical frameworks incuding models and methods to identify and assess onfarm and offfarm value chain impacts and dependencies of farming operations and systems on natural assets and biodiversity The protocol will also serve as guide for profilling natural assets physical chemical and biological state and condition and their trends over time The protocol will be developed in close coordination with Tasks 71 72 61 23 and 32 Task 73

Communication and Dissemination Plan

A document outlining the communication and dissemination strategies will be distributed to all partners and placed on the FRAMEwork website (T1.1).

Report on current and potential private incentives

Based on the literature review and the interviews in pilot clusters a report will be prepared describing current and potential private incentives that could influence behavior regarding agrobiodiversity management

Guidelines on setting-up, managing and promoting Advanced Farmer Cluster across Europe, and linking Clusters with external stakeholders

Guidelines will be prepared on how to set-up and manage Advanced Farmer Clusters. These will be prepared with the aid of all the projects facilitators and translated into national languages. They will be used to promote the Farmer Cluster concept across Europe through links with external stakeholders including policy makers in each partner country.

Report on the impact of Cluster approach on Farmer's self-identity and behavior

Based on the results from qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys a report will be prepared reporting on the impact of a Farmer Cluster approach on Farmer's self-identity and behaviour regarding agrobiodiversity management (Task 6.1).

Report on results-based payments to promote agrobiodiversity

Based on the analysis of the economic experiments, together with the literature review, a report will be prepared on lessons learnt and policy recommendations regarding the implementation of results-based payments to promote agrobiodiversity (Task 6.4).

Policy and practice guidelines for management of land abandonment in English and in local language of case study regions

The results from the final report, D4.4, are used to formulate, together with local land managers, farmers and biodiversity conservation organisations, guidelines for a guided transition from cropped to re-naturalised habitats that supports the wanted biodiversity while suppresses pest species. These guidelines will be shared with WP2 to provide a better insight into the biodiversity and ecosystem service patterns observed in the pilot-studies affected by abandonment, and with WP6 to consider the influence of abandonment on the performance of incentive schemes (Task 4.3).

Review of existing public incentive schemes plus design options

Based on the literature review and the interviews in pilot clusters a report will be prepared describing existing public incentives as well as promising design options of such incentives that could influence behavior regarding agrobiodiversity management

The project progress reports will be prepared in collaboration with WP leaders and submitted to the EC (Task 1.1c).

Report on the drivers and barriers to the provision of biodiversity and ES and the propagation of costs and benefits throughout the agri-food system.

This report will identify drivers and barriers of biodiversity sensitive farming systems for the provision of biodiversity and ES (in coordination with task 7.3), and the propagation on benefits and costs through the agri-food systems, using the insights derived from qualitative models of socio-ecological networks representing European agricultural systems, and pertubation analysis to identify the system dynamics in complex networks (Task 7.2).

Report on the effect of land abandonment

This final report summarises the effect of abandonment on key pests, beneficials, and species of conservation interest in abandoned fields, in adjacent cropped fields and differences between agrobiodiversity in areas with and without abandonment, in the selected study regions (Task 4.3).

Report on landscape complementation modelling including validation and modification of the models in the Farmer Clusters involved

This final report on landscape complementation modelling in the Farmer Clusters involved will be prepared after model validation and modification. The outcomes of this report will be shared with the involved Farmer Clusters (Task 4.2).

Report on the NAP and the potential for regional impact forecasting for Farmer Clusters and biodiversity sensitive farming using NAP.

This final report will analyse and synthesise impacts of land-scape intervention on biodiversity from their potential effect on natural asset, including both on-farm and off-farm value chain impacts and dependencies at the farm Cluster case studies (Task 2.3). The insights gained in the Pilot Cluster applications, and consultations with governmental, non-governmental institutions and industry will be generalised to forecast potential regional natural asset impacts where appropriate land use and habitat maps are available (Task 7.3).

Novel DST (FRAMEselect) for agrobiodiversity management

Novel DST for agrobiodiversity management FRAMEselect developed and tested 'in-house', Beta tested with a selection of potential end-users before Gamma testing on the cluster farms. Baseline assessment undertaken, priorities and targets identified, farm management practices implemented and potential benefits of farm management practices identified (Task 5.3).

Summary information notes and policy briefs

Based on the results from WP 6 (Tasks 6.1 - 6.4) practice abstracts and policy briefs will be produced highlighting potentials, caveats and recommendations regarding different elements of a policy tool box (including the collective Advanced Farmer Cluster approach, engaging farmers in monitoring, labelling and direct marketing to enhance private incentives, results-based payments to groups as public incentives) to promote agrobiodiversity management across Europe (Task 6.5).
