The platform for helping the rural development and its sustainability through the angling tourism

Project description

Breakthrough technology protecting rural fishing waters and angling tourism

The majority of fishing waters in Europe are found in rural areas that are frequented by millions of Europeans each year who go angling. The EU-funded Clic And Fish project is conducting a feasibility analysis on a technology developed by Spanish company AQUADATA – a data-driven platform that provides anglers with accurate and updated valuable services. The aim is to confirm how the technology could be launched in priority markets and to develop a business plan which outlines the roadmap to do so. The platform is expected to help maintain and protect the sustainability of fishing water ecosystems as well as promote rural development through angling tourism.

Objective

The platform for helping the rural development and its sustainability through the angling tourism.
A data-driven platform that helps anglers to get more information about their current fishing opportunities and support decision-making thanks to: 1) Precise geographical localization of the stretch with updated and accurate legal information (limits, size, days, permits); and valuable stretch´s points of interest (gateway to the stretch, parking’s, bridges, restaurants, hotspots, etc.). 2) Real Time information about the environmental and hydrological conditions, through our IoT Smart Buoys and Open Data. 3) A stretch´s 360º view of the water through Augmented Reality (stretch´s Google StreetView). 4) Meet and share experiences with other anglers through our social network, enhanced with gamification. 5) Get personalized recommendations based on big data and machine learning (feeding it with legal, environmental and user´s data). 6) A personal logbook and 7) Championship manager service.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
