NOCK: Real time safety for our senior relatives.

Project description

Advanced technology tracking for supporting the elderly

Millions of people in Europe are currently living with dementia, and this number is expected to grow as the population ages. As a syndrome, dementia affects memory, thinking, orientation, comprehension, calculation, learning capacity, language and judgement. Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairments are a key concern in a global scope, causing disorientation amongst elderly relatives and discomfort for people in charge of their wellness. The EU-funded NOCK project is deploying newly developed devices that combine a GPS location and communication systems to wearables such as watches and belts. This technology enables the discrete yet constant and easy tracking of elderly by their relatives and caregivers.

Objective

NEKI is a technological company created by seasoned entrepreneurs from different fields like Programming, Marketing and Management. We brought our expertise to this company in order to implement advanced safety solutions for person location and real time communication to relatives or health professionals.
Alzheimer and other cognitive impairments are a key concern in a global scope, causing dis-orientation among our senior relatives and discomfort among people in charge of their wellness. Elderly people find difficulties in their daily activities and get lost without being able to find their way home or even telling other people where their address is. The risk of getting lost is real and one single night outdoors can be lethal to them.
146,042 people disappeared in Spain along last 20 years, and 6,053 have not yet been found, being most of them seniors or suffering cognitive impairment. Most advanced societies show similar seriousness figures.
NOCK Project is the evolution of NEKI technology for a comfortable adaptation to senior people, who are provided with GPS location and communication systems, so they are constantly tracked by their relatives and caregivers.
The system is composed of different technological pieces developed by NEKI along last 3 years and has already a great rate of paying customers and visibility, as we will describe along this document. Nowadays, closing an initial €130,000 investor round and achieving €60,000 from a public institution loan will lead us to our actual market deployment in European and Global scopes.
The Project already counts on powerful stakeholders at technological and health & care sector levels, what has provided us not only with visibility but also with actual revenues.
These stakeholders, together with gathered experience have led us to current tested service performance, great recurrent revenues and Project planning, which we will need to test along next months for achieving an international market deployment as succes
