Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Big Data, usually dominated by Les, presents a big opportunity for SMEs to enhance and optimize their operations and turnover as well as discover new business models. The DaaS market (€1.8 billion, 31.5% CAGR) is changing quickly as SMEs look to compete and disrupt incumbents using dynamic, business-driven solutions backed by solid data that does not require a huge implementation effort.

With this project, we want to move to Infobel PRO, which will be the most complete and versatile DaaS offer in the market and specifically tailored for the benefit of SMEs: It combines data integration, business intelligence and information collaboration. Infobel PRO will allow sparse raw data to be upgraded, homologized, reformatted and delivered to clients generating actionable insights that can be shared across the business network; ensuring that end-users across all departments of the firm realize the maximum value of the service.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

Technical Plan: all the features are analysed, based on our current technological platform “Maestro”, and to move to the new InfobelPRO. Technical risks and consideration on datasets are analysed, as well as API implementation and protocol for tender demonstration. Technical plan for EIC Pilot roadmap has been developed.
Freedom to Operate analyzed several patents, as well as the Data Regulation at worldwide extent.
Commercial feasibility includes the end-user analysis, as well as the commercialization strategy for the different user types (from small to large audiences). Market inception and penetration has been developed. Competitors have been analysed and InfobelPRO proposes the most complete features at affordable price and adequate functionality for SMEs.
Financial feasibility and business plan include a sales forecast, EBITDA estimations, and market risks identification. With an initial estimation of 2.7M€ for EIC Pilot, indicates an ROI of 5.8 in 5 years.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

The project has a significant impact on all industry types, with a clear benefit to EU SMEs (24Mi companies), to worldwide (340Mi companies). The project brings the benefits of Big Data and business intelligence to SMEs and in fact to the whole society, with chances to benefit from them. Also, pushing Infobel we’re pushing an EU IT company in a field (the IT industry) where EU still suffers of a considerable lag compared to USA and other ones such as China and Japan.
