Design principles and test result of multisource heat pumps with high COP DHW (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

Report about design principle of internal component (evaporator and condenser heat exchangers) to accommodate re1uiremnets of deep BHE integration, description of the IoT control development of HP, cloud-based service, remote maintenance and fault detection including its benefits and operating mechanisms of high domestic hot water COP system. Tests results will be also included.

Experiences & evaluation of EXCESS PEB solutions (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

Deliverable 4.2 will summarize the main findings of the PEB solutions (solar assisted multisource heat pump, PVT, ground seasonal storage and energy storages) demonstrated in four pilot sites distributed across Europe. The performance of the cases will be reported for future scaling and replication strategies. By M18, information sheets for each of the demonstration cases will be published. The final report in M46 will summarize the main finding of the demonstration cases, describing each case study, involved stakeholders, business interest group and the societal, technical and economic feasibility of the demonstrated PEB solutions. First Amendment: Due to the delays at the demo sites, also this deliverable will end 6 months later. D 17 will be submitted in Month 52.Third Amendment: Due to the delays at the demo sites, D 17 will be submitted in Month 63.

Guidance to all dissemination and outreach activities including the following main elements: • Main target groups • Key messages for each target group • Tactics e.g. corporate identity, promotional tools and main dissemination channels to be exploited • Timeline • Partners roles and responsibilities The plan will be reviewed and updated after the completion of half of EXCESS in M24.

Local regulatory and techno-socio-economic preconditions in the involved countries and how they boost a consumed centred clean energy transition will be described giving solid legislative grounds to the project.

Policy roadmap for deploying the PEB concept in the EU (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

This deliverable aims to elaborate a policy roadmap including possible policy strategies, instruments and processes to foster the PEB concepts at local, regional and at European Level. For this , various socioeconomic, physical and technical conditions will be considered in order to identify barriers and the most accurate solutions at policy level for its scalability.First Amendment: As the whole WP 5 is extended, all deliverables will be submitted 6 months later. D 21 will be submitted in Month 52.Third Amendment: due to the delay in the demos, this deliverable will be submitted in Month 61.

This deliverable will contain a description of the most relevant measures, actions and concepts, identified as successful by the pool of local and regional authorities consulted in the survey conducted. The outcome of the deliverable will serve as a proposal to be integrated in the local and regional planning instruments.

Stocktaking of PEB examples (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

This report will include 10 identified and analysed case studies . VITO and CEN will examine technical and technological solutions. ICLEI and other partners will focus on the initiation context, financial schemes, costs of energy & buildings solutions, social, indoor, environment, aesthetic and regulatory framework and implementation steps will be included. In particular the focus will be on the identification of barriers and opportunities.

Additional source of thermal & electrical flexibility in district heating substations (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

This deliverable will describe how extra flexibility will be added to a substation for a district heating network with sanitary hot water storage. The storage can also be loaded via the electrical grid, leading towards a flexible system for both the district heating network and the grid.

Summary report of user engagement activities in all demonstr. cases (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

This report will summarize all user engagment activites in the demo and provide important lessons learned regarding user needs and requirements to develop flexibility profiles. Third Amendment: due to the delay in the demos, this deliverable will be extended to Month 62.

PEB as enabler for consumer centered clean energy transition: shared definition and concept (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

Local and European regulatory framework preconditions, investigating how PEBs are positioned in the city energy infrastructure and how they boost a consumed centred clean energy transition will be described giving solid legislative grounds to the project.

Replication/implementation plans (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

Identification of 10-20 replication cases across the 4 climate zones and include new EU member states. Replication cases are based on demonstration activities and guide up to 20 stakeholders in Europe in the development of stand-alone replication plans or integrated into broader concepts like urban development plans or Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans. Third Amendment: the deliverables will be submitted in Months 60.

Long-term vision and outline of examined market potential of EXCESS solutions and products including an identification of target groups and current market trends and gaps, related opportunities and challenges in the EU and international markets. The Exploitation Plan will include commercial agreements between partners or third parties for joint exploitation and technology transfer, more specifically it will identify the services/product or product components that can be derived from the project exploitable results as well as their positioning within the partners’ product offering.First Amendment: as the whole Work package will end 6 months later, also this Deliverable will be submitted 6 months later in Month 52.Third Amendment: this deliverable will be submitted in Month 61.

The corporate identity will include a logo, web-design, branding guidelines, a Word and PPT template. A suite of promotional materials will be produced by a professional designer respect different forms of usage (offline and online) and differentiates the main target groups as needed. The promotional materials include: brochure (project overview), infographics, standard ppt and business cards.

Performance evaluation handbook of PEB solutions (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

Defined and detailed KPIs to evaluate the performance and the real impact of PEB solutions, including evaluation/metrics (evaluation criteria and variables needed to calculate them) for each demonstration site. Draft in M10 including first version of KPIs.First Amendment: Due to the delays at the demo sites, also this deliverable will end 6 months later. D 16 will be submitted in Month 42.

Design principles, ICT architecture and hardware selections of the integrated controller (se abrirá en una nueva ventana)

This deliverable will comprise the design principles and the ICT architecture of the Integrated controler. Moreover, the study will cover the design and selection of the hardware that will make up the integrated controller of the PV generation, storage systems and grid connection. First amendment: Validation testing were planned to be performed during September 2020 at CENER's microgrid, but they were not possible to start before mid-November 2020 due to technical problems that raised during the regular maintenance activities. Therefore, an extension of the duration of this task until the end of February 2021 will be requested, and included in the 1st Contract Amendment, in order to complete it satisfactorily.

The deliverable consists in the detailed design of the conceptual architecture and specifications of the ICT components of the EXCESS project (functional components, interoperability aspects, internal and external interfaces, technical specifications and non-functional specifications).

The deliverable will provide a base-ground MPC framework and optimization logic, consisting in an appropriate building model predictive control (MPC) component to allow for the assessment of alternative control scenarios and strategies for PEBs.In month 42, an updated version, based on findings from the demonstration activities of the Project will be available.Beneficiary 2, VTT is the leader of the corresponding task 3.5.First Amendment: the leader of deliverable D 14 will be changed from S5 to VTT.

The deliverable will focus on the development of the 1st prototype of the EXCESS Interoperable Data Management framework comprising in a message-oriented-middleware infrastructure, to facilitate the information exchange between all ICT components of the EXCESS system.In month 32, an updated version of D3.2, based on initial findings from EXCESS Demonstration will be available.
