Exploiting EO and hydro-ecological modelling for delivering advanced water forecasting services
The EU-funded PrimeWater project will provide robust EO products and cross-cutting services for operational forecasting of hydrological extremes and Harmful Algae Blooms in lakes and reservoirs. Aiming to improve forecasting skill, PrimeWater will employ innovative machine learning algorithms and advanced Data Assimilation techniques for integrating satellite imaging spectrometry into the modeling chain. By providing increased predictive capabilities, PrimeWater allows water managers to optimize downstream water services and better prepare against forthcoming critical changes in water quantity and quality.
