Revisión del papel de la Unión Europea en la gobernanza de asilo
La crisis de los refugiados que se ha extendido por todo el mundo durante los últimos años supone nuevos desafíos para la comunidad internacional y, especialmente, para las Naciones Unidas (ONU) y la Unión Europea (UE). El proyecto ASILE, financiado con fondos europeos, tiene por objeto el estudio del papel y la contribución de la UE en los sistemas internacionales de protección emergentes y en el Pacto Mundial sobre los Refugiados de la ONU (UNGCR). Tendrá en cuenta aspectos de las herramientas utilizadas en la gobernanza de asilo a nivel internacional, nacional y de la UE en relación con grupos vulnerables determinados por el género y la edad. También analizará si se respetan las normas de derecho relativas a los derechos humanos y de refugiados mediante los métodos de gobernanza de asilo aplicados.
Objetivo
The ASILE project studies the interactions between emerging international protection systems and the United Nations Global Compact for Refugees (UN GCR), with particular focus on the European Union’s role and contribution. It examines the characteristics of international, country-specific and EU asylum governance instruments and arrangements and their gender and age specific impacts on individuals and sharing of responsibility from the perspective of their effectiveness, fairness and consistency with international and regional human rights and refugee law standards. ASILE ensures a ground-breaking interdisciplinary examination of the role of key policy and implementing actors, and the effects of vulnerability and status recognition assessments over the agency and rights of individuals in search of international protection.
