Project description
Ambitious initiative to support the Extreme Light Infrastructure
In Europe, the Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) is a new research infrastructure of pan-European interest and part of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) that plays a key role in policymaking on research infrastructures in Europe. In this context, the EU-funded IMPULSE project will introduce resources and capitalise on the experience of leading European laser facilities to accelerate transition to the operational phase and enhance sustainability. It will identify opportunities for technical synergies across Europe’s leading high-power, short-pulse laser centres. The overall aim of the project, which brings together a consortium of 15 partners from 10 European countries, is to develop best practices to support the user experience, positioning ELI as a global platform.
