Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

The aim of PHOTOPARS was to advance the clinical translation of a novel medical photoacoustic imaging technology for guiding surgical procedures. The project objectives comprised technical developments to help translate a laboratory prototype to a practical instrument that can be used in a hospital environment, technology transfer activities and user engagement. Overall the main project objectives have been achieved and consideration is being given to building on its outputs to further develop the technology.
