Enhancing innovation among Turkish SMEs
A six-partner consortium consisting of public, semi-public and private institutions will implement a programme aiming to detect weaknesses and obstacles that prevent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in East Marmara, a northwest region of Turkey, from benefiting from innovation management services and support them in developing their innovation capacity. The EU-funded INNOV-EM project will apply the IMP³rove diagnostic tool to identify SMEs suitable for innovation management service support and will deliver integrated consultative services, mentoring and coaching to the selected SMEs. Key account management (KAM) services and enhancing innovation management capacity (EIMC) services will be delivered under the H2020 call for the period 2020-2021.
Objective
INNOV-EM Consortium composed of six partners with different type of structures like public, semi-public and private institutions and their different internal procedure struggled to achieve its targets by performing activities as projected in work plan.KOSGEB Bursa , ABİGEM DM, ULUTEK and KOU Techno park are main partners while BCCI and ECI are only supporting inactive partners of the project proposed.
The project aimed to offer integrated SME services of enhancing capacity of managing innovation processes and 'key account management' of successful SME Instrument applicants .Under this project mentoring and coaching services offered to SME’s. Horizon2020 (H2020) programmes and the project aims to assist the SMEs to cope with challenges of competitiveness,
Related to the Key Account Management for beneficiaries of the SME Instrument (KAM) services only two partners proposed targets which are KOU Technopark and ULUTEK and since there are SME Instrument beneficiaries could be determined in the region, the consortium would like to provide KAM services for the project.
Consortium focused on raising the number of companies that will be able to apply for the SME Instrument in the region via services enhancing innovation management capacities of SMEs as projected in 2020-2021 period.In the second period of the project, the SMEs which are defined as suitable for innovation management service support diagnosed with the IMP³rove. The SMEs’ gaps, weak points and bottleneck identified with the IMP³rove diagnostic tool and jointly agreed action plan will be prepared for the innovative SMEs developing their innovation management capacity.
