Clothing manufacturing 4.0 – Changing the way we make fashion

Project description

Dressing up the eco-friendly, efficient way

Today’s fashion industry has become the second biggest polluting industry in the world. There is an urgent need to reverse this trend and reduce the enormous amount of overstock the world of fashion generates. However, fast changing fashion styles demand new design models that can keep pace with demand. The EU-funded Rodinia project aims to support Clothing Manufacturing Efficiency (CME) software for high-speed and low-impact production. It combines just-in-time mass-customisation of garments according to specific actual needs, with no lowest limits in size production. It will eliminate the necessity of keeping the stock and reduce costs of investments. Thanks to Rodinia, SMEs of the fashion industry will be able to act efficiently.
