Project description
Organic fertilisers to improve crop yields
The farming industry is facing a significant dilemma. While the demand for organic products is rising, biofertilisers are more expensive and have an inferior impact on yield production compared to chemical fertilisers. On the other hand, chemical fertilisers have a long-term negative impact on soil quality and their manufacturing contributes to climate change. As a consequence, there is a rising demand for organic fertilisers that improve yield production and are cost-effective. The EU-funded BIOTA project proposes an organic fertiliser produced under a natural manufacturing process and that is adaptable to all types of farms. The innovative product encourages plant growth and makes them resilient to diseases, avoiding the use of pesticides.
