Alors que la demande de produits biologiques augmente, les biofertilisants sont plus chers et ont un impact moindre sur la production par rapport aux engrais chimiques. D’autre part, les engrais chimiques ont un impact à long terme négatif sur la qualité du sol, et leur fabrication contribue au changement climatique. En conséquence, la demande augmente pour des engrais organiques qui améliorent le rendement et sont économiques. Le projet BIOTA, financé par l’UE, propose un engrais organique produit dans le cadre d’un procédé de fabrication naturel et adaptable à tous les types d’exploitations. Ce produit innovant stimule la croissance des plantes et les rend résistantes aux maladies, en évitant l’utilisation de pesticides. The damage caused by chemical fertilisers is often long-term and cumulative - they have a profound negative impact on soil quality while the manufacturing process significantly contributes to climate change. Chemical fertilizers are generally preferred for high-volume, industrial farms in Europe. Many organic and bio-fertilisers are inferior to chemical fertilisers where it matters most: improving yields and cost efficiency. A €5-€10 billion opportunity exists for an organic fertilizer that can address these issues. With a patented, all-natural manufacturing process, Biota will disrupt the farming industry with an organic fertilizer adapted to all types of farming. Our fertiliser products stimulate plant growth and reinforces disease resistance which eliminates the need for pesticides and other chemical crop protection products. While guaranteeing equal or superior yields to chemical fertilisers, our novel organic method goes a step further than current organic fertilisers by being highly customisable. Biota Nutri BV is a Dutch producer of organic fertilizers founded in 2017, who aims to make organic and healthy vegetables affordable and available to everybody though manufacturing organic liquid fertilizers. We estimated that after 5 years of exploitation, we will achieve €15M in sales and €7M in profit with an ROI of 640%.
