Objective
OBJECTIVES
The use of computer programmes for training purposes is still unusual, both in schools and SMEs, particularly in the case of mathematical products. The objective of this project is to design and introduce a programme dealing with mathematics and its applications which corresponds to the requirements of industry. Based on previous versions, this programme is designed to familiarise companies with the mathematical models which are directly linked with production and thus to break down the psychological barriers which often exist with this type of programme.
ACTIVITIES
An analysis of the supply of and demand for CBT mathematics and science software will be conducted, more particularly in colleges and SMEs. Learning material relating to the subjects identified by the colleges and SMEs will be prepared and presented in the manner suggested at the time of analysis. The next step of the project will then be to study the fundamental steps in order to find solutions to the problems and to construct automatic question and answer exercises. These exercises will also be capable of providing solutions in the event that an incorrect answer is given. The product will be tested in various countries of the EU.
PRODUCTS
- A self-training computer programme for mathematics training, in the form of a mathematics exercise book.
- An analysis of the principal steps in the process of solving major problems.
- Software for self-assessment in the defined areas.
