Objective

OBJECTIVES
The educational programmes used in prison, although independent, are closely linked to the national education systems. These programmes are therefore ill-adapted to young delinquents and rarely lead to their being effectively reintegrated into working life. To make the training courses available for these disadvantaged groups more efficient, this project intends to create a diagnostic tool for accurately assessing the training needs of the target group and to provide appropriate training programmes.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will begin by studying the tools for assessing the training needs which already exist in the respective countries, in particular those tools aimed at marginalised groups (prisoners, refugees, immigrants, etc.). The short falls and the benefits of these tools will be identified, and the partnership will construct customised diagnostic tools based on this analysis for young people in prison. They will endeavour to take into account the complex nature of the target group and the areas examined during the standard diagnosis (cognitive capacities, career history, technical skills), and they will work on areas such as social skills, learning ability, motivation, social background and stability. Twelve job sectors have been targeted and close links with the enterprises have been set up to so as to make the training courses in the continuation of the diagnostic tools as effective as possible.

PRODUCTS
Creation of a set of diagnostic tools for the training needs of young people in prison and an open, flexible training programme (role play, manuals, educational software, etc.). Formation of a network of those affected by the problems in order to organise a "task force" at European level.
