Objetivo
OBJECTIVES
In order to promote a European vocational training area, the study will aim to increase co-operation between vocational training systems, the job market and the social partners on a transnational level. It appears important, if training supply is to be matched to training demand, to devise a method which would be capable of anticipating the qualification needs which are emerging in companies. To this end, the study will apply, on a European level, a methodology developed by the Dutch partners concerning the analysis of vocational systems. The partners thus wish to develop, at a European level, a relevant method which anticipates training needs.
ACTIVITIES
The partners will apply the Dutch method in their respective countries in order to detect any weaknesses in it. Then, by pooling the results, they will attempt to develop a methodology which is valid on a transnational level. This will need to be assessed by the various partners and, if necessary, re-adjusted before being distributed to the other Member States.
RESULTS
The results will differ according to the partner country. In Finland, a data base bringing together information on the professions will be created, to be used in the development of a curriculum, to evaluate skills and the training centres. In Scotland, the Dutch method will be tried out and compared with British classifications systems. In Portugal, the project will contribute to the development of concerted policies between vocational training, the job market, vocational information and vocational training centres.
