Training, supporting and promoting new skills through a programme for managers/trainers/tutors in the European retail sector

Objective

The role of general manager or company director in the retail-distribution sector is evolving to keep up with developments on the labour market Tutoring and training skills, in particular, are becoming increasingly necessary to deal with different target-groups such as the disabled or socially disadvantaged.

To respond to this need, the project intends to:
- set up a specific approved training programme jointly with the social partners;
- design a programme to improve managers' skills, with particular emphasis on heightening their awareness of the tutor/trainer's role;
- develop an innovative methodology to reinforce links with the social partners;
- integrate socially disadvantaged groups;
- design new tools such as a training management system to calculate and manage levels of profitability/return on investment and a trainee evaluation system,
- promote self-study;
- define, certify and validate new qualifications promoting professional development;
- increase synergy between partners.

Impact
Creation of training products aimed at general managers in retail-distribution companies to enable them to develop their tutor/trainer role so that young, disadvantaged or marginalised people can improve their chances of socio-economic integration.
