Graduates into business: professional experience for higher education graduates

Objective

The municipality of PANAZOL, which is strongly involved in youth work, wishes to prepare graduates for transition to employment by improving training schemes on the basis of university/enterprise co-operation and developing an innovative concept: the preparation-for-employment class. The "Graduates into Business" project (G.I.B.) is a transition-to-employment initiative for higher education graduates set up as a local vocational training development scheme.

The project will be divided into four phases and involve local and transnational partners. After existing solutions have been documented, the partners will design a joint prototype for a preparation-for-employment class which will be tested in situ and will enable a young person to prepare for a work environment before acquiring initial work experience in an interested company. This project hopes to institutionalise the concept of preparation-for-employment classes in order to bring education and business closer together, thus facilitating graduates' transition to professional life and meeting the needs of local companies.

Impact
Improved transition to employment for graduates through the establishment of university/enterprise co-operation and implementation of an innovative concept: the preparation-for-employment class.
