Objective
The aim of the project is, within the context of life-long learning and the adaptation of new qualifications, to develop suitable tools for the semi-automatic evaluation of supply and demand concerning vocational education in the area of applied research (particularly in the fields of bio-technology, medical technology, environmental protection and environmental technologies).
Supply and demand in the area of vocational training are to be determined for the sectors referred to above on the basis of data collection and interviews conducted with target groups. This information will then be made available to providers and users by means of modern communication technologies (e-mail, interactive documents and statistical tools on the Internet, Virtual Fairs run by the Mittelhessen Transfer Centre). In this way, contacts between providers (higher education institutions, training centres) and users (companies, especially SMEs) can be established much more directly and at considerably lower cost. The project concept of setting up a database for determining supply and demand in the area of continuing training and the use of modern communications technologies are innovative and particularly interesting for SMEs. Tight project management is important for the success of this project.
Impact
The project promotes the use of new communications technologies and ensures through evaluation that supply is oriented in a targeted manner to the requirements that exist in the area of vocational education.
