Project description
Novel test strip upgrades Big Data sensing
The EU-funded eCONFIDENCE project aims to evaluate possible commercial applications of a multi-sensor test strip as well as the necessary oxygen scavengers that have been patented within the European Research Council starting grant “REDOX SHIELDS.” Such a multi-analyte test strip can be used to calibrate the millions of data points generated by wearables every day to improve the accuracy of non-invasive sensors in a Big Data scheme in health and fitness. The test strip is ideal in that it has been designed to accurately measure multiple analytes from even a tiny drop of blood.
Objective
Goal of the PoC is to evaluate possible commercial applications of a multi-sensor test strip and the necessary oxygen scavenger that were patented within the ERC starting grant “REDOX SHIELDS”. Such a multi-analyte sensor can be used to calibrate the millions of data points generated by wearables every day to improve the accuracy of non-invasive sensors in a Big Data scheme in fitness and healthcare. The test strip is designed to accurately measure multiple analytes from a tiny drop of blood.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
