Cross cultural team trainers programme

Objective

With technological advances, new information channels and the trend towards internationalisation, middle managers are increasingly required to work in cross-cultural teams at home and abroad. Working effectively in this changing environment requires new leadership skills, working methods and tools. Innovative training programmes are urgently needed to ensure that European companies have the resources with relevant skills for meeting these new demands.

This project aims to promote the competitiveness of European enterprises in the international market by turning the potential problems caused by cross-cultural differences into advantages. It will achieve this through the development of cross-cultural training programmes designed for use in international European companies with different national and organisational structures.

Following an analysis of the current situation, partners will cooperate to develop and test training programmes and materials. Training will cover the main problem areas in cross-cultural working communities, focusing on methods of leadership, cultural understanding, and communication and cooperational skills as a means to improving team performance and job satisfaction. Materials and activities will be based on personal, company and national characteristics and the common European background. Training and materials at European level will be in English. At national or company level, the national and/or company language will be used.

Impact
The project will lead to enhanced vocational training programmes, improve the competitiveness of enterprises and promote industry/education cooperation across Europe.
