Objective
Faced with a rapidly changing working environment and the need to be flexible and mobile, employees in the tourism sector need access to high quality training throughout their working life. The general aim of this project is therefore to develop and test educational methods and aids that are designed to improve the quality of initial and continuing vocational training in the field of tourism. The methods will concentrate on the development of professionalism and the increased use of new technologies in the sector.
The partners will produce a multimedia educational package including self-assessment and simulation exercises, which will enable European tourism operators to put into practice what they have learnt in different situations and different countries. A detailed model of educational methods and other printed material will also be produced. The whole package will be designed for delivery in initial and continuing vocational training contexts, or for use by tourism operators themselves on an open and distance learning basis.
Impact
The project will promote access to high quality initial and continuing vocational training for European tourism operators. It will ultimately contribute to the development of more professional tourism services.
